Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, Visits President-Elect Prabowo Subianto following Congratulatory Letter

Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, paid a visit to the Indonesian Minister of Defense and President-elect for 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, at the Indonesian Ministry of Defense office on Wednesday. The meeting took place in the afternoon and lasted for about an hour. During their discussion, Tim and Prabowo talked about the partnership between Apple and the Indonesian government.

Tim, in a letter dated March 21, congratulated Prabowo on his election victory and expressed Apple’s commitment to investing in Indonesia’s technology sector. He highlighted the success of Apple’s three development academies in Surabaya, Jakarta, and Batam, and praised the government’s support for skill development and innovation. Tim showed confidence in the potential for further collaborations between Indonesia and Apple.

The meeting between Tim Cook and Prabowo was described as cordial, with Prabowo even asking Tim about his dietary preferences. Prabowo extended an invitation for dinner, whichTim graciously accepted. The Minister of Communication and Information Technology and the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defense were also present at the meeting.

Prior to meeting Prabowo, Tim had a discussion with Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the State Palace, focusing on Apple’s investment plans in Indonesia.
