Prabowo Subianto, the Indonesian Minister of Defense and President-elect for the period of 2024-2029, held a meeting with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan in Amman, Jordan on Monday (10/6) upon his arrival in the country.
The meeting between the two leaders was a part of Prabowo’s duties representing Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the high-level conference “Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza” scheduled for June 11, 2024.
Prabowo greeted King Abdullah II with “Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakaatuh, H.E. Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein. Thank you and I appreciate this opportunity. It is a pleasure to meet you, Your Majesty.”
During the meeting, Prabowo conveyed warm greetings from President Jokowi. In response, King Abdullah II congratulated Prabowo on being elected as the President in the 2024 presidential election and expressed gratitude for his presence in Jordan representing Jokowi at the conference on Gaza.
Prabowo highlighted Jordan as one of Indonesia’s active partners in advocating for the Palestinian people. He also mentioned that the Indonesian government is closely monitoring the deteriorating situation in Gaza, expressing deep concern for the vulnerable conditions of the people in the region.
