Prabowo-Gibran pairing has been officially declared as the winners of the 2024 Presidential Election by the General Election Commission (KPU) on Wednesday (24/4/2024). With this announcement, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming will serve as the President and Vice President for the 2024-2029 term.
After being elected as the President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto called for unity and cooperation from all parties in building the nation. He emphasized the importance of solidarity both inside and outside the government to strive for the well-being and progress of the people collectively.
According to the Law Number 7 of 1978 concerning the Financial Rights of the President and Vice President, the salary of the President of Indonesia is set at 6 times the highest basic salary of state officials other than the President and Vice President. Meanwhile, the Vice President’s salary is set at 4 times the highest basic salary of state officials other than the President and Vice President.
The highest basic salary of state officials, equivalent to Rp 5,040,000 per month, serves as the benchmark for calculating the salaries of the President and Vice President.
The President of Indonesia can potentially earn up to Rp 30,240,000 per month based on the 6x calculation of Rp 5,040,000 per month, while the Vice President can earn Rp 20,160,000 per month based on the 4x calculation of Rp 5,040,000 per month.
In addition to their salaries, the President and Vice President also receive substantial allowances. The presidential allowance is set at Rp 32,500,000 per month, whereas the vice-presidential allowance is set at Rp 22,000,000 per month.
In total, the President’s gross income amounts to Rp 62,700,000 per month, while the Vice President’s gross income is Rp 42,160,000 per month.
