President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and President-elect Prabowo Subianto were seen showing a united front at the Security Ceremony for the upcoming Presidential and Vice Presidential Inauguration. The event took place at the Mobile Brigade Corps Headquarters (Mako Brimob) in Kelapa Dua, Depok, on Monday (October 14, 2024).
Jokowi arrived at 8:31 AM and was warmly greeted by Prabowo, who had arrived earlier. Both leaders were dressed in matching formal suits with red ties and Brimob berets, demonstrating their solidarity.
Together, they received honors from the guard of honor before embarking on a Pindad-made All Terrain Assault Vehicle (ATAV) for a troop inspection. They rode side by side, accompanied by a marching band, as they carefully observed and reviewed each unit.
The ceremony commenced with the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya, followed by Jokowi taking his place at the ceremonial podium to receive a formal salute.
Jokowi was presented with the prestigious Loka Praja Samrakshana Polri Medal of Honor and was granted the honorary title of Brimob citizen during the event. These awards were bestowed upon him by the National Police Chief (Kapolri) and the Commander of the Mobile Brigade Corps, highlighting his contributions and dedication.
Throughout the ceremony, Prabowo stood by Jokowi’s side, emphasizing their ongoing collaboration as the presidential transition period approaches.
