Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto personally escorted Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape to his vehicle on Monday (15/7) after a visit to the Ministry of Defense. The meeting focused on developing ideas and improving collaboration between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Prabowo expressed his gratitude for James’s visit to the Ministry of Defense in his capacity as the chief of state.
Prabowo accompanied James to his vehicle, where the Prime Minister thanked Prabowo, referring to him as the President-elect for the 2024-2029 period. James exchanged pleasantries and shook hands with Prabowo.
During the farewell, Prabowo also showed his appreciation and respect for James’s delegation and visit. He invited James to wave in front of the media while holding his arm affectionately.
Following the meeting in the afternoon, Prabowo mentioned that there are various areas where Indonesia and Papua New Guinea can continue to collaborate.
“Our goal is to maintain positive relationships. They share a similar philosophy to ours and aim to respect all nations and powers. We have a common perspective on the importance of respecting all nations and are not interested in aligning with any blocs,” Prabowo said.
