Agricultural Counselor of The US Embassy Jakarta Rey Santella expressed hope that Indonesia could increase its exports of soybeans and tempe to the United States.
“We also hope that Indonesia can send more of these products to our country,” said Rey during the event Towards A Sustainable Future: Understand EUDR and American Hardwoods in Tangerang, Banten, on Tuesday.
He mentioned that the quality of Indonesian soybean products is considered healthier compared to other soybean products because local farmers use organic methods instead of genetic engineering.
“We are also very impressed with Indonesian soybeans and tempe,” he added.
He noted that the market in Indonesia is very promising, ranking first in the Southeast Asian market. This leads to increasing consumer demand and importers always trying to introduce new products different from previous ones.
“So if you have agricultural products, you can contact us or our team to send them to the United States. We also hope to inquire about sending Indonesian agricultural products,” he reiterated.
Rey also mentioned that they have promoted high-quality food products from the US to the world, including Indonesia. The guaranteed quality and authentic taste are attractive advantages that pique public interest.
Apart from agricultural products, Rey highlighted the significant export opportunities from Indonesia in the furniture sector. He stated that quality products can be exported to the US market, accounting for 56% of wood exports in the industrial sector.
In addition to agricultural products, Rey also mentioned the massive export potential from Indonesia in the furniture sector. He stated that good quality products can be exported to the United States market, with 56% of wood exports in the industrial sector originating from Indonesia.
