Jakarta – During Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto’s final working meeting with Commission I of the House of Representatives (DPR) in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (September 25), several significant moments took place.
Commission I Chairwoman Meutya Hafid, who led the meeting, pointed out that this session had the highest attendance rate in recent months for the commission.
“All factions are present today, with 40 members physically attending. This is perhaps the highest number in the last three or even six months, and possibly the highest attendance over the past year,” Meutya stated.
In a heartwarming gesture, Prabowo received a surprise from Nurul Arifin, a member of the Golkar Party faction in Commission I, who presented him with a bouquet of sunflowers after each faction delivered their final statements regarding the Defense Cooperation Bills with India, Brazil, Cambodia, France, and the United Arab Emirates.
Throughout the meeting, several Commission I members offered prayers and well-wishes for Prabowo, who is expected to be inaugurated as Indonesia’s President for the 2024-2029 term.
Nurul Arifin, in her prayer, expressed her confidence in Prabowo’s leadership abilities by stating, “You are the right person to lead this nation at this time. We are proud and pray for your success in carrying out your duties as the President of Indonesia.”
Similar sentiments were echoed by Rizki Aulia Rahman Natakusumah from the Democratic Party faction and Muhammad Arwani Thomafi from the United Development Party (PPP) faction, who expressed their full support for the incoming Prabowo-Gibran administration.
“May Allah, the Almighty, grant His blessings upon us all and bless Mr. Prabowo Subianto with success in leading the future government,” Rizki conveyed.
“To the Defense Minister, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, the president-elect, the United Development Party is ready to support the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka administration in building Indonesia,” added Arwani. (RR)
