Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto, the president-elect for the 2024-2029 term, has urged the Indonesian public to pray for the success of the Indonesian U-23 National Team in their upcoming match against the South Korean U-23 National Team in the U-23 Asian Cup. He stressed the importance of Indonesia emerging victorious in the match.
“The main goal is to win,” Prabowo stated on Thursday (April 25) following a meeting with NasDem Chairman Surya Paloh at his residence.
The match is set to take place at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in Doha, Qatar on Friday, April 26, 2024. The Indonesian U-23 team previously made history by reaching the quarterfinals of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup after defeating Jordan U-23 with a score of 4-1. This achievement marked the first time Indonesia has participated in the U-23 Asian Cup.
Prabowo had also offered prayers for Indonesia’s victory over South Korea on Wednesday.
“Tomorrow, our national team, the U-23s, in Doha will face South Korea. We pray for our national team. It’s very important,” Prabowo expressed during a press conference at the PKB headquarters in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (April 24).
